About The Event
After 26.5 years at The University of Queesland, Prof Costa has retired with flying colours in research & teaching. He has over 8400 citations, a HI index 48, number 87 Chemical Engineer and number 7 Membrane Separation in the world. He has over 20 years working experience in industrial, consultancy, academic and government advisory roles in Brazil, England and Australia. Joe has been teaching at UQ, primarily fourth year Chemical and Environmental Engineering. His major teaching covers courses in Environmental Risk Assessment, and Energy Systems in Sustainable Development. Prof Costa founded the FIMLab in 2004 and now the centre has produced 3 full Professors and 3 Heads of Departments. Further, several FIMLab members have joined top universities in the world such as Imperial College (UK), Kyoto University (Japan) and Tsinghua University (China), in addition to several top universities in Australia.
